Discussion Forums

What are forums?

Some topics have a discussion forum where members can post messages, ask questions, and chat with each other. If a topic has a forum, you'll see a Discussion link on the topic on your subscription page.

Posting a message

  1. Open the forum for the topic you want to post in.
  2. Type your message in the text box at the bottom.
  3. Click Send.

Your message appears immediately in the conversation.

Interacting with posts

Tap the + button next to any post to open a tray with actions:

  • Thumbs up — like the post to show support or agreement. Tap again to unlike.
  • Flag — report the post to your community's admin team (see below).

Editing your own posts

On your own posts, tap the + button to open the tray, then:

  • Edit — update what you wrote. You can edit a post for up to one hour after posting.
  • Alert admin (exclamation mark) — flag your own post for the community admin's attention, for example if you need an official response or want to highlight something important.

Flagging other members' posts

If you see something that needs attention, tap + then the flag icon and choose a reason:

  • Important — highlights the post for the admin in green. Use this for posts that deserve attention but aren't a problem (e.g. a safety concern, a good suggestion).
  • Spam, Offensive, Off-topic, or Other — highlights the post for the admin in red. Use these when something doesn't belong.
Flagging doesn't remove a post — it alerts the team to take a look. You won't see any change to the post unless the team decides to take action.

New post indicators

When you open a forum, a line in the conversation shows you where new posts start — for example, "1 new post since your last visit". This helps you jump straight to what's new without scrolling through everything.

I can't see any forums

Not all topics have forums enabled — it's up to your organisation. If you don't see a Discussion link on a topic, it means the organisation hasn't turned it on for that topic.
